Have the Experience of a Lifetime at VVR

Welcome to VVR in the heart of the Sierra Nevada
Nestled in the beautiful Sierra National Forest backcountry, just off the Pacific Crest Trail and the John Muir Trail, Vermilion Valley Resortâ„¢ at Lake Thomas A. Edison is the type of rustic paradise that John Muir would have treasured! Beautiful high country skylines, miles of shady pine trees, and an alpine lake with 13 miles of shoreline, stocked with some of the biggest fish to be caught (the state record brown trout was caught here in 1972) make Vermilion Valley Resort one of the most beautiful wilderness resorts in the high Sierra.

Whether vacationing with the family, fishing with your buddies, getting away by yourself for a spell, or using our Hiker's Water Taxi to get your Resupply Package while on the PCT/JMT; our staff will make your visit a memorable one. At VVR we' are committed to providing superior customer service tailored to the needs of day-hikers, overnight and multi-day backpackers, and PCT/JMT through-hikers . Since we began serving the hiking community in 1994, we've worked to upgrade our array of hiker-specific services and we continually add and adjust our services based upon hikers' input.

VVR features lodging, including motel rooms, a cabin, a tiny house, tent cabins, comfortable yurts and RV units. Guest can enjoy home style cooking at the cafe. Shop at the fully stocked general store for hiker supplies (in hiker-friendly sizes, including white gas/denatured alcohol by the ounce), many hiking and camping foods, snacks, and drinks, and just about anything else you might need on the mountain or on the trail.
